Law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR) has appointed defence and security industry expert Rebecca Kirk as head of its specialist defence, security and the forces team.

The team provides multi-disciplinary legal and commercial advice to primes, SMEs and individuals across the defence and security sector, helping to manage risk and make the most of supply chain and other opportunities within the ecosystem.

Rebecca has been an integral member of the team since she joined the firm in May 2014. Key projects have included providing resettlement training for military personnel, and the delivery of the Three Counties Regional Defence and Security Cluster (3CRDSC) and Specialist Defence & Security Convention UK (SDSC-UK). Her appointment represents a commitment to build on HCR’s position as a key part of the defence, security and the forces. Rebecca will succeed Richard Morgan who led the team for 11 years.

Richard Morgan said: “I’m delighted to announce Rebecca’s appointment. She has the personal and professional experience and qualities to drive the team forward. The growing number of primes and SMEs in the defence industry presents opportunities for HCR to provide legal advice that moves the sector forward.”

Rebecca added: “Richard Morgan has done a fantastic job in developing and growing the team, including setting up 3CRDSC and working with the MoD to deliver SDSC-UK, and this is a great foundation to build on. These are big shoes to fill but I’m excited to work with colleagues to ensure our continued success.”

Harrison Clark Rickerbys has more than 800 staff and partners based at offices in Birmingham, Cambridge, Cardiff, Central England, Cheltenham, Hereford, London, Thames Valley, Worcester and the Wye Valley.
