Maven has appointed Rafi Khan as an Investment Manager to help support the delivery of the South West Investment Fund, of which Maven manages the £38 million SWIF Maven Equity Finance fund.

Rafi joins Maven from Deloitte where he worked as an Associate Director within its Corporate Finance Advisory. An Accounting & Finance graduate from the University of Bath, Rafi brings a wealth of experience to help reach more growth focused South West businesses to access funding through Maven and SWIF.

Since being awarded the SWIF Maven Equity Finance fund, Maven's South West team has joined a number of events and funding panels to work with the local business and advisory community to help companies identify the most suitable type of finance to meet their funding needs and ensure the widest range of businesses can access, use and benefit from SWIF.

Alongside the team expansion, Maven has recently moved into a larger office in Bristol to support our growth in the South West.  The region offers one of the UK’s most vibrant business landscapes and is home to some of the country’s most innovative business, operating across a rich mix of high growth sectors including technology, advanced manufacturing, renewable energy and healthcare.

Rafi Khan, Investment Manager at Maven, said: "Maven has already made a huge impact on the South West investment scene and I am thrilled to be a part of Maven during this exciting phase, as we embark on the early stages of the management of the SWIF Maven Equity Finance Fund. I look forward to continuing to foster relationships with entrepreneurs in the South West, and collaborating with the Maven team to support flourishing regional businesses"

"2023 was a transformational year for Maven in the South West – the expansion of the business in the region has created exciting opportunities for businesses looking for funding to fuel their growth plans. It’s great to welcome Rafi to our growing team to aid us in delivering the South West Investment Fund and help support ambitious companies.

Melanie Goward, Partner at Maven, added: “SWIF brings a welcomed additional funding channel to the region and we are delighted to work alongside the British Business Bank in supporting entrepreneurial companies across the South West, providing funding solutions which will enable management teams to scale their organisations.”
