Fareham: Solent Hotel appoints new general manager

The Solent Hotel and Spa in Fareham has appointed George French to the role of general manager at the four-star hotel.

This marks a return to the Solent Hotel and Spa for French who previously held the role of operations manager at the hotel between 2015 and 2016. 

Having studied for a BSc in Sports Science and Leisure Management at Manchester Metropolitan University, French has worked in the hospitality industry since 2008 in a number of hotels throughout the country. In 2013 he joined The House of Daniel Thwaites Hotels and has spent time working at Kettering Park Hotel and Spa, Cottons Hotel and Spa and Middletons Hotel as well as Solent Hotel and Spa. 

French said of his appointment: “I am thrilled to be returning to Solent Hotel and Spa, this time as General Manager. Though it is only two years since I moved away, there have been some great developments at the hotel especially the launch of the Lodge at Solent bringing a new budget friendly offering to the resort. Also, the recent refurbishments of the guest rooms, meeting space and the spa has enabled us to offer our guests an even greater experience during their stay. I am now looking forward to working with the fantastic team to continue in their aim to exceed guests’ expectations wherever possible.”
