Matt Hawkins, chairman of Westbourne technology company C4L, has been shortlisted in the Entrepreneur of the Year category of the Dorset Business Awards which received a record-breaking number of entries this year from more than 130 companies within the BH and DT postcodes areas.
This recognition is based on Hawkins’ innovative approach to technology, forward thinking, and his donation of time, resources and money to start-up businesses and local universities.
According to the C4L staff: "Matt epitomises entrepreneurship and follows the ethos that true innovation cannot stand still – by its very nature it must constantly be challenged and evolve in order to yield the next breakthrough. Matt is not afraid of challenging the status quo or trialling new approaches or technologies. He understands that innovation requires both the expertise to comprehend and the courage to try new things.
The overall winner will be announced at a gala awards dinner to be held in Poole on November 28.
