Christchurch: New CEO for Spectrum Housing Group

Richard Hill has been appointed as the new chief executive officer of Spectrum Housing Group. 

He joins from his role as deputy chief executive and director of programmes at the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) where he had responsibility for the investment of £5 billion annually. He led the response at the HCA to the credit crunch and has delivered a successful national affordable housing programme for four years.

Previously he was director of investment at the Housing Corporation, head of policy and strategy at the New Opportunities Fund and has held various roles in higher education following his doctorate.

Hill said: "I am really pleased accept this position. Spectrum is a fantastic organisation and I was really impressed by the staff I met during the interview process. We now have the opportunity to make the Group even more successful together.”

He will continue to fulfil his commitments to the HCA during the summer and will be joining the Group in September.

He will take over the role from Wayne Morris who is retiring after 24 years in post as CEO. Morris said: “I’m delighted to be handing over the leadership of Spectrum to Richard. I am sure he will lead the organisation on to even greater achievements in the future.”

Spectrum Housing is one of the leading providers and developers of affordable housing in the south with over 18,000 homes in ownership. It also provides maintenance and facilities services to a further 35,000 homes through its maintenance contracting arm Spectrum Property Care which has recently won a number of new contracts.
