Abingdon: Croft Associates appoints new board members

Croft Associates, specialists in the packaging and transportation of radioactive materials, has announced that Mark Janicki and Alex Ferguson have been appointed to the board as business development director and licensing director respectively.

Janicki rejoined Croft in 2006. He is responsible for commercial activities as well as the development of solutions for the safe management of radioactive wastes to meet UK on-site safety case, transport and disposal criteria. In this role he has led the work on concrete and ductile cast iron containers.

He has worked for 37 years in the nuclear industry, he is a nuclear physics post graduate and has a strong technical background gained through his work in safety case production, management and peer review for nuclear plant and processes, and his work into storage, transport and disposability of radioactive materials and wastes.

Ferguson joined Croft in 1989 and is primarily responsible for licensing packages for the transportation of radioactive materials. He has worked in the nuclear industry for 36 years, and has experience in the design of active and remote handling facilities, together with the preparation and review of transport safety applications and liaising with regulatory authorities to obtain transport approval licences.
