Businesses across Worcestershire got an exclusive peak preview of the local housebuilding supply chain opportunities on the horizon at FinditinWorcestershire’s latest ‘Meet the Buyer’ event.

Over 100 attendees arrived at Sixways Stadium to meet with key buyers from local and regional house building giants to talk about the opportunities due to take shape across some of the county’s multi-million pound housing developments.

Supply chain managers and procurement leads from Lioncourt Homes, Kier Living, Speller Metcalfe and Lovell gave local firms the chance to talk one-to-one about the supply packages available across a variety of sectors.

Homes England were also on hand to talk about The Home Builders Fund which provides development finance loan funding to meet development costs of building homes.

After the event Lorna Jeynes, Project Manager of FinditinWorcestershire, said: “We wanted to give FinditinWorcestershire members the opportunity to meet with buyers looking to build lasting relationships with suppliers.

“With new build and affordable housing developments at a record high, house builders in the area need local supply chain partners in everything from show home interior designers to flooring, plumbing, scaffolding and more.

“Some of the biggest housing developments in Worcestershire will play a crucial role in the region’s future growth and investment in the area, as well as generating additional spending into the local economy.”

Speller Metcalfe’s specialist Living division has just started work on its first housing job secured through the Direct Delivery Partner Panel. The £10 million project will see the firm build 92 homes at Pickersleigh Grove in Malvern for Fortis Living – the largest yet for its Living division. The multi-million-pound development will be a mix of sixty two, three, and four-bed houses for shared ownership sale, plus a further eight two- and three-bed houses and 24 one-bedroom flats for affordable rent.

Rob Ackerman. Pre-Construction Manager at Speller Metcalfe said: "Both Fortis and Speller Metcalfe have been part of the Malvern community for many years and are looking forward to collaborating on this scheme which will enhance the local area and deliver a positive impact for existing and future residents of Pickersleigh Grove.”

Fortis Living has recently appointed Speller Metcalfe on a number of schemes in Worcestershire including 11 new homes in Warndon and a new head office on land close to their existing base in Worcester.
