Following Wokingham being named the UK’s healthiest place to live, one of David Wilson Homes’ sales advisers within the town has provided an insight into its growing popularity.

Wokingham came out on top of a national health index carried out by the Office for National Statistics, which looked at a wide range of health factors in comparison with towns and cities elsewhere in the country.

Julie Terney, a sales adviser for David Wilson Homes in Wokingham, has provided an insight into the town’s growth having worked locally on a day-to-day basis. She said: “Swinley Forest is close by which is great for walking and letting dogs run around. There are 31 acres of parkland available at Montague Park and Dinton Pastures is also in close proximity.

“A £17 million revamp of the town centre has created a number of pedestrian areas and places where you can eat outdoors, which will be ideal for anyone moving into the new Landmark Square development. There are several gyms within the town. The nearby spa at Nirvana is popular and there are spa treatments also available at the local Hilton hotel.”

Noting the area’s popularity among new homebuyers, Terney stated she had helped families find their new home to be close to the high standard of schooling in the area, while the rail links to London and easy access to the M4 have proven to be popular with commuters.

Terney added: “The town centre of Wokingham is an interesting mix of old and new buildings, some of which date back to the 1600s. It is attractively laid out with a large selection of affordable restaurants, numerous pubs and coffee shops.”

All properties have now been sold at Montague Park, but David Wilson Homes now has a range of houses and apartments available at its Landmark Square development, part of the Elms Field regeneration scheme.

Rob Allen, sales director at David Wilson Homes Southern, said: “Wokingham is an outstanding location with green space for walks and sports available right on residents’ doorsteps. New and existing residents regularly enjoy the finest aspects of semi-rural living and we’re pleased to offer members of this growing community a serene location to settle down in.”
