Technology innovators move to Oxford Industrial Park

VSL & Partners, acting on behalf of Cornerstone Property Advisors has completed two major lettings to technology businesses at Oxford Business Park.

Solar technology innovators Oxford Photovoltaics (Oxford PV) and motion capture developers Vicon have taken leases on new facilities at Oxford Business Park at Yarnton.

VSL agreed a letting to Oxford PV of Unit 7 & 8 comprising 25,937 sq ft on a 10-year lease at a rental of £12 per sq ft. The company is a pioneering solar technology company founded in 2010 as an Oxford University spin-out. Today, Oxford PV is on a fast-track to commercialising a new perovskite-based technology which will enable cell manufacturers in the solar power industry to boost the performance of their solar cells by around 30 per cent.

Vicon, which develops motion capture products and services, is relocating from Botley to expand its operations. VSL agreed a 10-year lease on Unit 6 comprising 21,935 sq ft at a rental of £10 per sq ft. Vicon systems has been used to enable realistic character animation in box-office movies such as Avengers and Iron Man and in blockbuster video games such as Halo and Call of Duty. The company's technology also plays an essential role off screen with pioneering work in the medical field helping to rehabilitate injured soldiers.
