Tech firms target new home near Oxford city centre
Two hi-tech medical companies have moved to new premises near Oxford city centre.
Mirada Medical and Caristo Diagnostics have both taken space at New Barclay House, Botley, the former headquarters of the Midcounties Co-operative, in deals organised by commercial property agents VSL.
The whole of the second floor has been taken by Mirada Medical which develops medical imaging software applications that help with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer and other diseases.
It comprises 8,000 sq ft which has been occupied on a 10-year lease with a five-year break at £19.50 per sq ft.
Caristo Diagnostics specialises in technology that can detect inflammation in coronary arteries and so help prevent heart attacks. The company has taken 3,500 sq ft at £19.50 per sq ft.
VSL director Richard Venables said: “Botley is attracting a range of financial and tech companies looking to take advantage of its proximity to the train station, Seacourt Park and Ride and general access to the city centre.
“New Barclay House has been comprehensively refurbished and ticks all the boxes for this type of company.”
The final suite of 4,216 sq ft is now under offer which will complete the letting of the building.
