The University of Southampton Science Park has announced that Tekever Group will be the first tenant to take residency in its brand-new office accommodation, 5 Benham Campus.

5 Benham Campus is the latest addition to the Science Park’s successful portfolio of business accommodation set in 45 landscaped acres at Chilworth. Officially opened by Vince Cable, the new building has over 20,000 sq ft of office accommodation with flexible space configuration. It embraces the best technologies including smart building management, category six ICT and a state-of-the-art biometric system for secure round-the-clock access. A coffee shop, rooftop terrace and breakout areas support collaborative working.

With subsidiaries in Europe, Asia, South and North America, the Tekever Group is at the leading edge of innovative technologies for the enterprise, aerospace, defence and security markets. Tekever develops and delivers advanced technology and products that improve the quality of communication, information, and execution capabilities for customers around the world.

Paul Webb, Tekever managing director, commented: “Our UK operations are expanding rapidly and we required larger premises to enable us to exploit our full potential.”

Peter Birkett, CEO of the Science Park, added: “With occupancy levels of over 90% at the Science Park since 2014, building 5 Benham Campus was an obvious next step. We are grateful to the University of Southampton and all project partners for supporting this initiative.”

Southampton Science Park is fast becoming one of the UK’s most desirable destinations for science and technology- based businesses, from start-ups to multinationals. Business support, incubation programmes and flexible leases help businesses to grow and flourish, while a dynamic events programme encourages collaborative working and entrepreneurship across the scientific and technological spectrums.
