The latest company to take space at Nursling Industrial Estate in Southampton is Meachers Global Logistics. This follows a deal secured by property advisers Jones Lang LaSalle on behalf of landlord AXA Reim (UK).
Meachers, which provides logistics management and warehousing through to freight forwarding and transport services, has taken 20,016 sq ft in Unit 7 on a new three-year lease. The landlord was quoting a rent of £130,000 per annum.
The company already had its head office at Nursling Industrial Estate alongside four other units so this deal will allow the company to expand its existing operations at the site.
Other tenants on the estate include Tesco, SIG Construction Accessories, One Stop, TNT, Hermes, DX, Mack and Import Services.
Matthew Poplett, director at Jones Lang LaSalle’s Southampton office, said: “The landlord has made a considerable effort to refurbish these premises which has given them a distinct advantage over those who leave buildings in disrepair, and it gave Meachers the opportunity for immediate occupation.
“The unit is close to the docks and the M27 and this, coupled with the new yard which was completed in December and refurbishment of the unit, made it an ideal opportunity for a warehouse and distribution company.”
