Original Style is to open in Southampton, becoming the first company to move into a new business park nearing completion at Millbrook.

The company, which manufactures and distributes tiles, stone, mosaic, glass and accessories, is to take on an 8,000 sq ft showroom and trade counter at Third Avenue, fronting onto the main western approach to Southampton City Centre.

The unit is the first of six built on the site of the former Truvox building at Third Avenue by the developer Maytrees.

Millbrook is in a popular trade area, with the adjacent Southampton Trade Park home to Topps Tiles, Toolstation, Crown Decorating Centre and Jewsons.

Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH), joint agent for the scheme with Chesters Commercial, acted as agents for the landlord in the deal, and is now in talks with several parties interested in units 2-6.

Adrian Whitfield, director, Industrial and Logistics at LSH’s South Coast offices, said: “Original Style was on the hunt for a prime location to begin trading from in Southampton as the company expands. Millbrook is ideal in terms of ease of access to the city centre with excellent accessibility to the M27 and has been built with trade counter and storage and distribution businesses in mind.

“We are delighted to welcome Original Style to Millbrook, a significant development which is bringing new employment to the region.”

Brooke Taylor-Faiers, retail marketing manager at Original Style, said: “Southampton has been a target area for us for some time. This opening will be our sixth store, and finding the right property was crucial to our expansion plans. We’re looking forward to meeting new customers and sharing our advice and creative ideas, as well as hearing theirs. We are grateful to Adrian and the team at LSH for their expertise in finding us the location.”

The new units at Millbrook have full planning permission for business use, industrial, storage and distribution. They range between 2,604 sq ft and 3,950 sq ft in size and can be combined for larger requirements if required. The total development is 23,700 sq ft and is well served with road links to Junction 3 of the M27.
