BE Offices, the independent provider of flexible space, has announced the latest centre to open under its co-working Headspace brand, this time in Southampton.

The opening is Headspace’s sixth centre and is BE’s first operation in Southampton. Headspace will occupy the entire ground floor in Grosvenor House, Grosvenor Square, which represents just over a third of the total space leased by BE.

Last year BE announced it had leased approximately 12,000 sq ft in Grosvenor House through its BE.Spoke corporate flex space division which signed a 10 year lease on three floors.

Almost 8,000 sq ft on two upper floors has been designed and fitted out for EY, the accountancy and management consultancy.

Headspace launches the centre at the beginning of February and the company reports strong interest in more than half the space. Headspace will also provide co-working facilities for EY.

David Saul, BE’s managing director and co-founder, said in a statement: “This is another excellent example of how our different divisions work together to provide complementary space and services that helps make our corporate flex space offer very hard to beat.

“In addition, this latest opening is part of our regional expansion into areas where there is increasing demand for our flexible space offer. The high level of interest we have already experienced for the new Headspace centre reflects the latent demand in Southampton for our co-working offer and we anticipate Grosvenor House to be a great success.”

Jonathan Weinbrenn, managing director of BE.Spoke added: “There has been a substantial shift in the way larger occupiers look to procure and deliver their workspace. Forward thinking businesses like EY appreciate the benefits of transferring risk and liability to a trusted partner. This is our second delivery for EY and we are delighted to have worked hand in hand with them to enhance their employer proposition by creating a totally customised, activity based designed workspace, supporting the health, wellbeing and productivity of their staff.”
