International property and construction consultancy Gleeds has appointed Neil McMullen as a director within the business’ health team. McMullen joins Gleeds from Currie & Brown where he held a senior position as regional director, bringing with him over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry and specialist knowledge of the health sector.
McMullen is highly regarded in his field and currently sits on the Department of Health’s ProCure 22 (previously P21+) financial and commercial working group, representing the interests of NHS Trusts. He has also provided the Department of Health’s P21+ and NEC contract training programme and has been a consultee for NHS guidance and publications, such as the healthcare premises cost guides. He therefore plays a pivotal role at Gleeds in advising the NHS on best practice and cost control for construction work procured by the organisation all over the UK.
Based in the company’s Southampton office but with a nationwide mandate, his new position will involve leading Gleeds’ healthcare partnering frameworks and developing the health professional team.
Commenting on his appointment, McMullen said: “I am really excited to be joining Gleeds and working alongside its head of healthcare, Roger Pulham. The company has built a reputation for delivering exceptional services to health sector clients and I look forward to working with the team to build on this success and grow our service offering across the country.”
Richard Steer, chairman of Gleeds Worldwide, added: “I am delighted to be welcoming Neil to our business. He brings with him a wealth of experience and a real talent for the management of complex health projects. Neil’s understanding and experience of ProCure22 makes him an invaluable addition to our team and only further contributes to our development strategy within the sector.”
