Savills welcomes new joiners to Cheltenham team
Savills Cheltenham has strengthened its residential sales and lettings office with several key appointments.
Iain Powis has joined to head up the residential development sales team, which advises on and manages the sale of many of the area’s finest new homes schemes and conversions.
Iain has been with Savills since 2013 and has over 15 years’ experience in residential property sales.
He moves from Savills Oxford office, where he advised clients on some of Oxfordshire’s most notable developments, including Parklands Manor, Besselsleigh and The Elms, Thame.
During his time in Oxford, Iain acted as head of residential development sales, overseeing a team of five.
Iain said: "I am delighted to join Cheltenham’s busy and vibrant office. Savills residential development sales business had a very successful 2021 and I can see a great opportunity to further develop and grow in Cheltenham and Gloucester.
"There are notable similarities in our market here to that of Oxford, as well as many developers active across the county border."
Another senior appointment is that of Phil Bates, who has been appointed as an associate director to the residential sales team.
Phil is an experienced residential agent with 17 years in agency in and around the region. His expertise lies in the sale of prime country houses and he joins the team from Hayman-Joyce in Broadway.
Phil commented: "Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and of course, the Cotswolds district, is home to some of the most impressive country houses and estates within the UK and it is a privilege to build on my expertise in this exciting market within such a strong team."
Also joining the Cheltenham team are residential development sales manager, Omer Basharat, and lettings coordinator, Sarah Owen.
Omer has relocated from Savills Bristol, where he supported the launch of Brabazon, one of Bristol’s most significant and successful new developments of recent years.
Prior to joining Savills, Omer spent three years with Barratt Developments Plc. Sarah makes the move to Cheltenham from Savills Cotswold lettings team, based in Cirencester.
The new appointments follow a record year for Savills in Cheltenham. Head of office, Chris Jarrett, said: "After an incredible year for our local business, I am thrilled to welcome Iain, Phil, Omer and Sarah into the fold.
