Savills launches highly-anticipated new Bristol harbourside development

McArthur’s Yard, the much-anticipated new residential development on Bristol’s harbourside, has been brought to the market for sale by real estate advisor, Savills.

Occupying a prime waterfront position adjacent to the SS Great Britain, McArthur’s Yard is one of the last remaining development sites on Bristol’s famous harbourside.

Comprising a series of warehouse buildings, which were once the headquarters of Bristol-based metal merchant, McArthur’s Group, the site has been derelict since the late 1990s.

McArthur’s Yard includes a collection of 142 one- two- and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes, arranged over three sensitively designed contemporary buildings. The new homes, many of which will enjoy impressive views, have contemporary, open-plan layouts and high-specification interiors.

Guide prices start from £323,000 for a one-bedroom apartment to £695,000 for a three-bedroom penthouse with a private roof terrace.

Vicky Dudbridge, a director in Savills residential development sales team in Bristol, comments: "McArthur’s Yard is one of the most significant new developments to come to the market in Bristol for a number of years.

"Its iconic location on the city’s renowned floating harbour will undoubtedly be a key pull for buyers, and the quality of the design and build by the award-winning Guinness Homes, is equally superb.

"One of the last opportunities to buy a brand new home on the harbour, McArthur’s Yard garnered a good deal of interest in the months leading up to its launch, and following a very busy pop-up launch weekend, we have already agreed several early reservations."

In addition to the private sale apartments, McArthur’s Yard also includes shared ownership and affordable rented homes which will be available through Guinness Homes in 2024.

Karen Hancock, South and West sales manager at Guinness Homes said: "Our recent event was a great success, and it was a pleasure to be able to welcome prospective homeowners to give our customers the opportunity to see what’s on offer at this prime Bristol location.

"McArthur’s Yard boasts one of the most desirable Bristol locations and it offers our customers the chance to live near the serene harbourside waterfront. We look forward to seeing what else this year has in store for Guinness Homes and to also welcoming residents into McArthur’s Yard."
