M&G Real Estate and development partner Bell Hammer have launched No. 2 Forbury Place, the 192,000 sq ft final stage of the giant Forbury Place estate in Reading town centre.

The Grade ‘A’ office building is the largest on offer in the centre of Reading, close to Reading station and the upcoming completion of the Elizabeth Line.

Aaron Pope, asset manager at M&G Real Estate, said: “No. 2 Forbury Place offers quality facilities that cater to the growing demand of Grade ‘A’ office space in the Thames Valley region. We have created a quality of building usually seen in the central London market which we hope will attract potential occupiers to the Thames Valley region and Reading in particular.”

Joel Hawkins, development manager at Bell Hammer, added: “Forbury Place stands out in the Thames Valley as having been delivered to a standard more commonly associated with central London HQ offices. The architecture is outstanding and the quality of the internal space sets a new benchmark for South East offices. Reading needed a flagship development to support its claim to be the central commercial centre for the region outside London and Forbury Place fulfils that role.”

M&G Real Estate bought the Forbury Place estate in 2012 and it included the existing 220,000 sq ft Number 3 Forbury Place. Occupiers in the building include Osborne Clarke, PwC, Convatec and Yell.

Number 1 Forbury Place was the first building to complete at the estate, as part of the development, and was let to SSE prior to practical completion and the energy giant’s South East super hub which accommodates 2,000 people.

CBRE and Campbell Gordon are acting as leasing agents for M&G Real Estate.
