Reading: Firm hosts property law seminar
Thames Valley Law firm Blandy & Blandy LLP welcomed 60 guests to its annual Property Law Seminar in Reading this month.
The event, held in Reading Borough Council’s main chamber, welcomed representatives from leading firms including Davis Tate, Savills, Handelsbanken, Haslams Chartered Surveyors, Campbell Gordon, Crowe Clark Whitehill, Ridge & Partners, Moore Stephens, NLP, SG Hambros, LSH, Vail Williams, Lloyds Bank, PJSA Chartered Surveyors and Hicks Baker.
Partners Jane Gunnell, Katja Wigham and Luke McMath were joined as speakers by solicitors Gemma Tipping and Lorna Sansom, a member of the firm’s probate tax and trusts team. Topics covered included Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) on commercial and residential properties, in light of changes introduced in 2016, and tax relief for landlords of residential properties given changes coming in 2017, alongside an update on case law.
