The uncertainty surrounding post-Brexit trading has led to a growth in demand for flexible office space in Reading, according to workspace provider Regus, which reports a growth of more than 30% in enquiries from June to August.
The company says the figures are an indication that businesses in Reading are starting to think more flexibly about how and where they work.
Richard Morris, UK CEO, Regus, commented: “The current UK business climate does not lend itself to long-term property purchase commitments or even long-term lease arrangements. Instead, businesses are thinking more flexibly and investigating more agile ways of working afforded by flexible workspace.
“Since the Brexit vote was announced, we have seen a significant growth in enquiries for our workspace in Reading.”
The Regus model enables businesses to take as much workspace as they need at any time – whether a single office for a day, or multiple workstations across an extended period.
“Businesses were starting to think this way long before Brexit happened,” continued Morris. “Certainly, the Brexit effect has generated a surge in demand, but this is simply continued evidence that business attitudes are beginning to shift towards a more agile future.”
