Rapid growth continues at Common Ground

Despite the pandemic, rapid growth is continuing at Common Ground Estate and Property Management with more homes added to its portfolio and jobs being created.

In the last year, the business has taken on a further 983 flats and houses across 22 developments. This represents a rise of 50% with the business now managing a total of 2,453 properties.

Staff numbers have also grown from eight to 13 in the same period and a drive has just been launched to recruit a property maintenance operative as well as a property administrator.

The geographical reach of the business has also expanded as it takes on properties in London, Swindon, Kent, Reading, Windsor and Surrey as well as significantly more in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

Managing director Alan Draper said: "We decided from day one of lockdown that we would not use Covid as an excuse for poor property management delivery. Staff were on board with this and have provided a comprehensive and quality service to all the homes we support. All staff have worked from home, and I carried out all site visits making sure I had taken a Covid test before each visit.

"People who were stuck at home could see how property management issues were not being resolved with many management companies falling short of their obligations to the tenants they support. But we were determined to deliver a broad spectrum of support throughout lockdown.

"We believe this has helped build our reputation with leaseholders and property developers who have since instructed us on the management of further properties."
