Billy Alsop has been promoted to development manager at National Regional Property Group, after graduating from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in property development.

Alsop has been with the Portsmouth-based firm since 2016, studying for his degree alongside his role with the company. The unique internship meant he could get the benefit of industry experience, as well as academic learning.

Now, having graduated with a First Class Honours, he’s been promoted to development manager at National Regional Property Group and will now work alongside Filipe Martins managing and delivering the company’s projects.

Alsop said: “Undertaking what was virtually a full-time position alongside a full-time degree was a great learning curve. A big part of what enabled me to manage the two effectively was National Regional Property Group’s support and encouragement. They gave me the flexibility to manage my own schedule and to dedicate my time and attention to university when needed.”

He added that working alongside studying had been beneficial: “It provided the opportunity to begin my industry training early, this put what I’d learnt in the lecture theatre into perspective and this has contributed greatly towards my growth as a property professional."

Shaun Adams, chief executive, said: “We’re immensely proud of Billy and what he’s achieved. He’s developed greatly over the last two years and become a vital part of the team. We look forward to helping him develop his career further in the coming years, working on our flagship projects across the UK.”
