Property inventory and inspection reporting app, InventoryBase, is celebrating its fifth birthday with the release of a new version 5.0 of its app, as well as doubling revenue year on year since its launch and retaining 80% of its customer base.

Since 2012, InventoryBase has been paving the way in PropTech innovation in the arena of property inspections. With four out of five companies or individuals who choose it staying as clients, customers recognise the impact its use has on improving their property business. Recommendations have been flooding in, says the company.

Steve Rad, managing director of InventoryBase said: “We started as a team of four and are now a 12-strong force operating out of our Portsmouth headquarters offering customers round the clock support. I think that our support is unrivalled and is certainly what I’m most proud of, fixing issues quickly because we boast a team that cares equally about the service we provide. Everyone in our team has a passion for delivering cool software as part of a service people really need and I think our customer loyalty reflects this.”

The App was created for anyone who inspects properties for tenancy, insurance or maintenance purposes. This includes property managers, inventory clerks, letting agents, surveyors, building inspectors, risk assessors, domestic energy assessors, HMO/block managers, asset/facility managers and more.

With teams in the US, Canada and South Africa successfully embedding the app under the brand ‘Property Inspect’, it seems global ambition is firmly in the sights of the software expert duo Steve Rad and James Taylor who started the app.

Discussing the future of InventoryBase, James said: “We’re really starting to branch out into multiple property sectors including short term rental management companies, hotels and resorts, block management companies, HMO auditors and surveyors. We are currently working on making the software flexible enough to cater to all property reporting requirements with these possibilities imminent.”

Along with its fifth birthday, the app is also launching its 5.0 version and latest update.

The team has completely rebuilt from the ground up for performance, speed and more fluid interaction. It boasts a new ‘rapid-fire’ camera to cut even more time out of taking high-quality photographs of rooms and items throughout the property, snapping multiple photos in a row and swiping through all your photos at once to delete, reassign or add captions. “We cut time spent embedding photos into reports by 90% when we first launched InventoryBase, now we're shaving even more time off,” said Rad.

The built-in audio dictation feature will finally break users free of carrying dictaphones, as the experience of recording spoken observations while still being able to flag actions and take photos makes dictation both seamless and effortless. Combined with InventoryBase’s overnight transcription service, inventory clerks can complete detailed, page-heavy inventories in a fraction of the time it takes them now.

“The improvements to the app appeal to both those new in the property industry or those who’ve carved out an entire career in it. InventoryBase allows them to get jobs done faster and cut administration time, tenancy disputes and property maintenance issues down to the bare minimum,” Rad added.
