HSBC UK’s Thames Valley commercial banking team has signalled its commitment to Oxfordshire with a move to new premises in Oxford.
A 20-strong corporate and commercial banking team will be based at the 2,500 sq ft state-of-the-art office in Hanborough House on Botley Road. HSBC’s Oxford-based team supports businesses with a turnover of up to £350 million.
The new office bolsters the team’s presence in the Thames Valley region and complements its main Thames Valley Reading office. It will primarily serve Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas and has capacity to accommodate additional employees to support the business’ growth.
Cameron Rathwell, area director and head of corporate banking Thames Valley, said: “This modern state-of-the-art office demonstrates our commitment to Oxfordshire, which boasts fantastic businesses across a range of sectors. We have ambitious growth plans in the region and this new office is a great base for our expanding team of relationship managers.”
He added: “Oxfordshire is a very large and vibrant marketplace. It is not just a UK leader in science and technology innovation; but a global one and as the only truly international bank in the marketplace for corporates a physical presence in Oxford is key to HSBC being able to connect Oxfordshire’s businesses to the world and vice-versa.”
