Newland Homes acquires former nursery in Cheltenham for low and zero carbon homes

Gloucester-based Newland Homes has acquired a former plant nursery site on Kidnappers Lane, Leckhampton from the Robert Hitchins Group.

Newland Homes plans to build 22 low carbon and zero carbon properties, which will be a mix of detached open market houses and affordable homes.

With properties constructed to high standards, using local sourced materials, the homes will exceed current regulatory requirements for sustainability.  The open market homes will use renewable energy technologies and features, including solar panels combined with air source heat pumps, to meet zero carbon status and to provide a net gain in energy consumption with the property providing more energy than it consumes.

“A Reserved Matters application has been submitted and we hope to receive the final go ahead for these 22 homes, which will blend with the character of this semi-rural location.  The properties have been designed to reflect the agricultural history of the area, however they will include modern design features as well as eco-conscious and sustainable aspects such as air source heat pumps and solar panels.”
