Ridgeway, a top-20 motor retail group, has unveiled plans to open a Jaguar Land Rover corporate-identity showroom on Greenham Business Park, Newbury. This development is on the back of record sales and critically-acclaimed product launches.
Ridgeway will invest £10 million in the development of the new showroom which will showcases both brands side-by-side. The new facility will include a drive-in service reception, a 16-car showroom, an 18-bay workshop, rooftop parking, customer lounges and a Barista coffee bar. West Berkshire Council granted the scheme planning permission in March and the site is due to open for business at the end of December 2016.
Ridgeway already represents Jaguar and Land Rover in Oxfordshire and this development marks the second site to be built for the group with its Milton Gate, Milton Park facility well underway and on track for an autumn completion.
John O’Hanlon, Ridgeway’s chief executive, said: “We are a major employer in the town and this new facility will create 90 additional jobs.”
Jeremy Hicks, UK managing director of Jaguar Land Rover, commented: “The road network feeding our new Ridgeway Jaguar Land Rover business in Newbury is in a perfect location at the crossroads of southern England within a ten-minute drive of the M4 and five minutes from the A34.”
