Dutch investor and developer Kadans Science Partner has secured planning permission for a new, purpose-built laboratory and office building at Abingdon Science Park.

The new-build development has been designed with a specialist professional team and Kadans Science Partner in house development team. This investment represents Kadans long term ambition to boost both facilities and the presence of Abingdon Science Park which sits at the heart of the Science Vale, one of the largest R&D clusters in Europe.

To respond quickly and innovatively to changing scientific requirements, flexibility was a core driver in the design inception. The design of the building increases space and light, fundamental to modern working environments and talent retention.

The scheme also brings forward communal and café space to the park. By providing this central space, it will encourage tenants from across the Science Park to come together and collaborate. Investment of this scale in Abingdon showcases the importance of the science park to the Oxfordshire cluster. The building will bring Kadans world class knowledge in the design, development, delivery and operations of R&D buildings to the cluster. The new scheme will deliver robust lab infrastructure and empowering an ecosystem for further innovation
