Gloucester City Council has given the green light to plans for a drive-thru restaurant and retail units on a Brownfield Site on the edge of the city centre.

Acting on behalf of Evesham-based Chase Commercial Ltd, planning consultants at Worcester-based Harris Lamb put forward an application to Gloucester City Council for the construction of an A1 Drive-Thru, three A2, A3, A4 and A5 retail units and associated car parking, servicing and landscaping at Triangle Park, Metz Way, Gloucester.

Sean Rooney, of Harris Lamb’s Planning Team, said: “This application was approved following substantial liaison and negotiation with the Council, and required a Sequential Assessment to demonstrate that there were no preferable sites within the city centre that could accommodate the proposed development.

“We are delighted to have secured approval from the Council. This is an ideal commercial location within close proximity to both the city centre and the M5. This development will regenerate redundant brownfield land with a mix of uses that will further diversify the food and retail offer in the area and support the local economy,” he added.

Over the last ten years Triangle Park has seen a host of retail businesses move in after the site was highlighted for regeneration by the former Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company.

Morrisons was the first to move onto the site, followed by a Costa Coffee, motor dealership and most recently a Lok'n'Store
