New beauty business puts Coronavirus behind it as sisters launch new nail bar

Two enterprising sisters have launch a nail bar in Redditch town centre.

Speedy work by the agents John Truslove meant Szara Wahid and her sister Gabriella Rozsa were able to open up G&S Nails at The Kiosk, in Alcester Street, just a couple of days after the Government lifted Covid 19 restrictions on nail bars and beauty salons in July.

“We’ve got off to a good start,” said Szara. “Like everyone on the high street we are hoping to get busier as people get more confident in the coming weeks and months.”

Originally from Hungary, the sisters decided to use their skills to open a new business in Redditch and spotted The Kiosk property online. Szara Wahid trained in Hungary while her sister Gabrielle Rosza trained in the UK.

“We got in touch with Ian Parker at John Truslove and he arranged for us to have a look inside the premises just a couple of days later.

“Ian and the team have been really helpful, always getting back quickly to answer any questions and even getting us a the keys a couple of days early so we could get in and get everything sorted in time to open, with all the PPE (personal protection equipment) and additional hygiene and screening procedures in place.

“We offer a very high standard of manicure, using different techniques for a better finish that will last longer than usual – up to five or six weeks. We are very proud of our skill and the quality of the service we can provide, which we hope will continue to attract more customers.”

The Kiosk, at 1 Alcester Street, provides 459 sq ft of interior space, aid out with a shop frontage, sales area, w/c, kitchen and access to the rear for deliveries. The premises also benefit from three security shutters.

G&S Nails now has a prominent position in the town centre, neighbouring a branch of the NatWest, a Post Office and the Primrose Hospice store. Kingfisher Shopping Centre, the Market Square and the Quadrant development are all within short walking distance.

The new business has taken the premises on an annual rental of £7,000.
