For those working in life sciences, choosing a space for your company is a delicate balancing act. Finding high quality facilities that encourage innovation is only one piece of the puzzle - a community with similar passions and values is also key.

Oxfordshire’s Milton Park is a place that fosters conversation and collaboration, where people can share ideas and build connections. It’s a vibrant community comprising a host of innovative companies undertaking some of the most cutting-edge research and development in life sciences. It’s a place where life and work connect.

Room to grow

With three million sq ft (278,709 sq m) total floor space, which includes 800,000 sq ft of laboratories as well as over 25 amenities, Milton Park fuels innovation and sustainable growth for more than 250 companies and 9,000 people.

Milton Park is home to number of leading life science and technology companies in their field, demonstrating the strength and value of their innovation by attracting more than a billion pounds of investment from 2011 to mid-2021. Meanwhile, the combined turnover of companies based at the Park totals more than £37b, generating a significant contribution to the Oxfordshire and wider UK economy.

Milton Park’s unique simplified ten-day planning arrangement and single ownership gives companies the ability to grow within the Park. The Park is proud to host many of the early Oxford University spinout companies which have remained here to this day.

A growing number of companies at the Park have completed the full journey through the high-growth ecosystem. Adaptimmune, Immunocore, Exscientia, Oxford Immunotec and most recently Evotec have all attracted huge levels of investment through floating on the NASDAQ stock exchange.

An ideal location

Set within the ‘Golden Triangle’ of leading UK universities, companies located at Milton Park gain unrivalled access to an abundance of global-leading skills and talent, while also offering fertile ground for university-spinouts.

Benefitting from excellent transport connections, people can take advantage of direct buses from Oxford and other towns across the county and direct trains from London, Swindon and Reading to Didcot Parkway. For only £20 per year, those working at the Park can use the regular shuttle bus service to travel anywhere within Didcot.

Cyclists enjoy easy access to and from the Park through using dedicated cycleways. A free bike and e-bike hire scheme is available for people working here. The bikes are housed in bike shelter ‘hubs’ across Milton Park and at Didcot Parkway railway station.

Away from the work environment, people at Milton Park can enjoy 43 acres of open and landscaped space, as well as lagoons, grass, wildflower meadows and urban gardens, providing recreational areas for people to unwind and meet colleagues. The Park also offers a wide range of amenities, including a gym, cafés, shops, Post Office and a pharmacy.
