One of the UK’s largest suppliers of trade tools, accessories and hardware products, with over 279 branches and approaching 3,000 employees, Toolstation is taking on a newly refurbished unit on Reform Trade Park in Maidenhead.
Sorbon Estates, the commercial property investment arm of the Shanly Group of companies, has agreed a 10-year lease with Toolstation for a trade counter unit at the trade park.
Mark Allaway, acquisitions director at Sorbon Estates, commented: “We continue to boost and diversify our portfolio with interesting projects such as the industrial retail space at Reform Road, Maidenhead which was a vacant former Dairy Crest depot when we acquired it. Following the refurbishment of these units, complete with a re-imagined layout and upgraded cladding, we are delighted to facilitate Toolstation’s continued expansion and we look forward to seeing their business prosper in Maidenhead.
Joining a hub of specialist trade suppliers at Reform Trade Park, including Screwfix and Crescent Building Supplies, as well as Gibbs and Dandy, Toolstation will be located at Unit 3, occupying 4,108 sq. ft. Three further units are available to let from 4,807 sq ft to 10,867 sq ft with discussions and negotiations currently taking place with several retail warehouse businesses.
Philip MacLauchlan, managing director of Adept Consultancy UK, which is responsible for trade counter acquisitions for Toolstation, added: “There is a strong demand in Maidenhead for tools at everyday low prices. This year we are intending to open several new stores, with the site at Reform Trade Park being key to our plans. We look forward to welcoming trade customers, as well as home-improvers and self-builders from the public to visit our trade counter and access our stock of some 11,000 products.”
The Toolstation store in Maidenhead is due to open in late October 2017.
