Waterstone Marine Facility has been sold to MDL Marinas in a deal facilitated by Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH).

The waterside facility on Lower William Street covers 3.2 acres and comprises a mixture of office, industrial and warehouse space totalling 83,073 sq ft.

It was previously occupied by the industry-funded cooperative Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL), which is now looking to move premises to Strategic Park in Hedge End.

LSH oversaw both the sale to MDL Marinas and the acquisition of OSRL’s new home.

Dan Rawlings, head of South East industrial & logistics at LSH, said: “It was a great team effort to advise OSRL through our I&L team advising and negotiating in various capacities.

“Securing a sale of this stature in the current market, with the process withstanding multiple turbulent economic factors throughout marketing, was a great achievement on our team’s behalf.”

As previously reported, MDL acquired the 3.2-acre plot to provide expansion opportunities for Shamrock Quay Marina and nearby Saxon Wharf Marina.

It plans to rent out the office building on site to potential tenants seeking workspace in a marina setting.
