A statement from the council read: "Located in the heart of Ashford town centre, the former Odeon cinema provides an exciting prospect for a whole range of operators to put their own unique stamp on this historic building and return a much-loved and repurposed building back to Ashford."
The developers plan to retain the front of the building facing the High Street while the rear of the building will be demolished and replaced with a new modern flexible space.
Ashford Borough Council says the building would suit a range of sectors including hospitality, co-working and health and wellness.
