National housebuilder opens new regional office at Abingdon Business Park

Royal London Asset Management and XLB Property have successfully completed another letting at Abingdon Business Park to housebuilder Hill Group for its new regional office.

Hill Group, which was named Medium Housebuilder of the Year at the Housebuilder Awards last year, and reported an increase of 12 per cent in its turnover last year to £652 million, has taken a 10-year lease on Unit A Windrush Court comprising 4,500 sq ft of office space at Abingdon Business Park.

The group opened its first Western region operation 15 years ago at Bicester but has since outgrown it so the new office accommodation at the park was seen as essential to the firm’s plan to double turnover in the next five years.

Regional director Ryan Harris said: “We have seen exciting growth over the past few years and with high levels of demand for our new homes, we are well on track to reach our ambitious five-year strategy of doubling turnover and profitability in the period to 2025.”

“Our new office in Abingdon provides additional workspace and flexibility, and we are now looking to recruit locally based staff to help further our growth. We are immediately seeking a land manager, quantity surveyors, technical co-ordinators and a variety of production-based staff to facilitate this growth together with management trainees.”

Abingdon Business Park is owned by Royal London Asset Management with XLB appointed as a strategic advisor. The letting to Hill Group was agreed by appointed agents VSL & Partners and Lambert Smith Hampton.

Will Hawking at Royal London Asset Management said: “We are delighted to welcome yet another business to Abingdon Business Park which further strengthens our position as a serious player amongst other Oxfordshire business parks. We continue to invest in the park’s future in order to retain and attract more businesses to this thriving community.”

Abingdon Business Park is a 50-acre mixed-use scheme comprising 414,000 sq. ft. of office, research and development and industrial property.  The secure site benefits from 24-hour security, an on-site park management team and is home to over 35 businesses employing over 2,500 people.
