Hampshire & Regional Property Group has appointed Walter Cha as chairman as it embarks on an ambitious five-year growth strategy. It comes as the regeneration specialist seeks to replicate its regional success on the national stage.

Cha joins Hampshire & Regional Property Group with a proven track record in growing businesses, as well as having excellent links in the legal, financial and property sectors. During his time as managing partner of Blake Morgan he spearheaded the law firm’s transformation from a local practice with 350 staff into a national business with 1,000 staff. The firm’s turnover increased more than fivefold during his time at the helm.

In his role as non-executive chairman at Hampshire & Regional Property Group he will be instrumental in steering the company’s growth.

Having established itself as a leader in city centre regeneration and PRS projects locally, Hampshire & Regional Property Group is now looking to make a name for itself on the national stage. It currently has over £200 million worth of projects underway in the south including Southampton’s first ever PRS scheme.

Managing director Allan Gordon said: “We are delivering some real game-changing developments in the South, helping to bring new life to once derelict parts of Hampshire cities. During the last few years we have carved a reputation for specialising in the tricky urban regeneration and PRS projects that most developers shy away from.”

Chief Executive Shaun Adams added: “We’re not ones to rest on our laurels. We are fiercely ambitious and know that we have the potential to replicate our success in the South on a national scale. Walter, with his record in guiding businesses through significant growth, is perfectly placed to help us achieve this.”

Cha said: “There is huge demand for PRS developments and Hampshire & Regional Property Group has the experience to deliver. I am delighted to join the company at this exciting time, as it is poised for significant national growth.”
