With an exceptional year of hard work and achievement behind it, Hampshire-based Moore Blatch has been shortlisted for Property Law Firm of the Year at the 2016 South Coast Property Awards.

Moore Blatch’s real estate division has been recognised by the prestigious local awards for its strong performance over the past year in the land development, commercial property, residential property and rural property teams.

To be shortlisted, law firms must demonstrate that they have performed exceedingly well, be regularly instructed on complex deals and excel in advisory work.

Moore Blatch’s land development team acts for some of the largest housebuilders in the country, advising them on strategic land acquisitions and disposals.

The commercial property team has also been excelling itself, acting for an enviable client base of lenders, investors and restaurant operators, culminating in the last year with the team advising a commercial developer on the acquisition of a mixed use development site in the City with a value in excess of £500m.

The rural property team has also seen significant growth, and is now the leading argicultural specialist in the area, acting for multiple landed estates in the south, as well acting in the sale of the two largest farms on the market in Hampshire this spring.

Meanwhile, Moore Blatch’s residential property team is seeing growth in high value property acquisitions in the New Forest and City, as well as acting for residential landlords with large portfolios.

In order to effectively support its client base the team is also now supported by its own property litigation team and planning specialist. Across all teams this now takes the real estate team to 14 partners.

The figures demonstrate the recent growth and overall size: turnover within Moore Blatch’s Real Estate division has increased from £2.5m to £6.8m over the past four years.

Luc Algar, partner in commercial property, commented: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for Property Law Firm of the Year award. Our real estate division has worked extremely hard to achieve this recent growth – and it is great to see this hard work being recognised. Each of our property teams are led by partners who are well known as ‘market leaders’, which has resulted in each team developing a strong and desirable client base. Going forward we are keen to strengthen our existing relationships, further invest in our junior lawyers and, ultimately, achieve further growth. ”

The South Coast Property Awards 2016 will be held at a gala black-tie dinner at Hilton at the Ageas Bowl on July 7.
