Developer Wates Residential has chosen HBS Group Southern as its delivery partner to design and install all plumbing, heating and electrical services for 200 new homes being built at Daedalus Village.
This large-scale regeneration scheme in Gosport is the first project in Homes England’s new national accelerated delivery programme, which is designed to enable the Government’s housing agency to fast-track the building of homes on publicly-owned land.
Work on the former Royal Naval Air Station known as HMS Daedalus started back in November last year when Wates Residential and Homes England joined forces to create this significant mixed-use neighbourhood.
It’s the latest combined site services contract awarded to HBS Group Southern and builds on the company’s growing reputation as the South’s leading mechanical and electrical delivery partner in the new build housing sector.
Richard Manville, construction manager at Wates Residential said: “I am delighted that HBS have signed up to work at Daedalus Village. This is our flagship site in the south and is the foundation of our expanding presence across the south west of England. Their continued commitment towards quality and customer service is second to none and the teams are really looking forward to the path ahead.”
When complete, Daedalus Village will dramatically increase the number of new homes available in Gosport, helping to fulfil the local housing need. The scheme comprises of a mix of tenures and sizes, with 120 private homes and 80 affordable homes managed by Housing Association Radian.
