Gloucester-based contract hire, plants and services business, the McGurk Group, has agreed to sponsor the London Irish Rubgy Union team.

The group, which among its subsidiaries owns Keyway, one of the largest construction equipment hire companies in the UK, will become an ‘Elite Sponsor’ of the Exiles in an agreement which will see the company logo included on the back of the team’s shirts.

Jean O’Grady, Head of Partnerships at London Irish, said: “I would like to thank Eamonn, Brian and everyone at McGurk for pledging their support to the Club, it is an honour to have a company with such business acumen join us on our journey.

“We look forward to working closely with McGurk, whose business values align with our mission here at London Irish.”

The deal coincides the McGurk Group’s sixtieth anniversary in 2023, with the business able to trace its roots back to Clones and Newbliss in Ireland’s County Monaghan.

In a statement, company directors Eamonn and Brian McGurk said: “Becoming a partner of London Irish realises an ambition of the company, and I believe that a mutual beneficial relationship has now begun that will hopefully remain for some time.”

“Ourselves and the company are very much looking forward to visiting the Club in what will be an historic campaign for the boys in green!"
