David Wilson Homes launches properties in Newbury

Following its recent launch on Saturday 3 July, David Wilson Homes is now taking appointments for homebuyers to find their new home among the first releases of properties at Donnington Heights in Newbury.

The homebuilder’s latest Berkshire community, located on The Connection, will accommodate 222 properties and house hunters are being encouraged to secure their appointment to get first pick of the homes available.

Donnington Heights, which will feature three, four and five bedroom properties, will bring over £6.8 million of investment into Newbury via David Wilson Homes’ planning agreement.

Not only will the community benefit new residents, but the funding will be used to support services and improve local facilities for existing residents. Contributions include over £4.5m towards the construction of a brand new primary school, in addition to a £921,245 investment in bus services and over £700,000 towards the improvements of the Robin Hood roundabout.

Larger properties at Donnington Heights will meet a growing demand, as a recent study from Market Financial Solutions identified a garden or outdoor space was cited by 92% of homebuyers as an 'important' or 'very important' consideration in their search for a new home. This replaced a property’s square footage (89%) as the single most important factor, when compared with 2019.

Residents at the upcoming new homes development will benefit from improved pedestrian links into the heart of Newbury, while the A339 provides opens the door to a wealth of a commuting opportunities.

An active lifestyle awaits at the development with public open spaces being created at the new community, in addition to walks alongside Donnington Castle and a choice of golf clubs nearby.

The £6.8m investment from Donnington Heights follows the funding of £9.2m as part of the homebuilder’s Newbury Racecourse development, plus a combined £795,621 for its Cherry Blossom Meadow and Willows Grange communities, totalling more than £16m pounds worth of long-term commitment to Newbury.
