Co-working space provider DeskLodge is close to the completion of Phase One of its unique and quirky 18,000 sqft fit out in Bristol’s iconic Beacon Tower.

Set across three floors of one of Bristol’s tallest landmarks, the co-working space will bring some of the quintessential DeskLodge aesthetic to the iconic high-rise building.

This will include a series of themed areas such as Egyptian Gods, Merlin’s Cave, a Tardis and Banquet Hall. The furniture will also primarily be upcycled or restored pieces.

Desklodge in Beacon Tower will be made up of a blend of 26 private offices, 289 dedicated desks, 60 hot desks, six meeting rooms with capacity for 5-12 people, as well as nine team booths, and eight phone booths.

The launch of Phase One sees tenants moving into private offices before the rest of the development opens its doors in September.

DeskLodge Founder, Tom Ball is excited to bring another industry leading co-working space to the city; “We’ve been in Bristol for many years in Redcliffe but can’t wait to open in the iconic Beacon Tower in the beating heart of the city. We are famous for offering unique and fully bespoke workspaces and this will be our finest yet.

“Bristol is renowned for being one of Europe’s creative hubs, and we think that Desklodge in Beacon Tower will offer some of the region’s most exciting start-ups and entrepreneurs an environment that they can grow and thrive in.”

The new flexible-working space is suitable for anyone from single-person start-ups, to established organisations of up to 30 people.

DeskLodge, which was recently named in The Times ‘Best Places to Work 2023’, currently has two sites along the M4 corridor, one close to Bristol Temple Meads and one in central Reading. The business has its sights set on 20 locations by 2030.

Recent research conducted by DeskLodge found an increasing number of business leaders (37 per cent) have stated that an office space which offers collaboration opportunities is proving vital to company culture.

Additionally, nearly half (46 per cent) of business leaders cited operating from a premises that can offer flexibility for a distributed workforce as a key driver for moving into a co-working space, as well as cost-effectiveness for scaling up quickly (37 per cent).

Tom continued; “At DeskLodge we pride ourselves on creating spaces where people want to be. All our hubs are inclusive and collaborative spaces that inspire those working there, and Beacon Tower will be no different.

"It will be a world-class ‘destination’ workspace that will continue to push Bristol forward as a city in which anything is possible.”
