Dorset law firm Steele Raymond LLP has appointed a leading expert in SIPP and SSAS pension property investment as a partner in its market-leading commercial property team.

Caroline Probert joins the top-tier commercial property team as partner, bringing with her 15 years’ experience in the acquisition, sale, mortgaging and letting of commercial properties for SIPP and SSAS pension schemes.

Probert's arrival brings the number of partners in the team at Steele Raymond to six and the 15th partner across the firm.

Probert, who was previously head of a regional law firm’s commercial property team in Salisbury, has significant expertise on all property transactions for SIPP and SSAS pension schemes including sales, purchases, in specie transfers and complex cases with shared ownership. She also has experience advising on industrial, leisure and development property and dealing with enfranchisement matters.

Commenting on her appointment, she said: "Steele Raymond has a stellar reputation that is admired by clients and professionals within the legal sector and I am very excited to have joined such a strong commercial property team. The tremendous growth that Steele Raymond has achieved over the last five years, coupled with a first-class reputation for providing clients with a high-quality commercial property service, is something that doesn’t go unnoticed. For me this is a true reflection of the exciting vision we are undertaking here at Steele Raymond and why so many top professionals are joining the firm.”

Chris Twaits, partner and head of the commercial property team, said: "We are delighted to welcome to the team someone with Caroline’s outstanding national reputation in the very specialist area of pension property investment.  Caroline’s expertise adds further depth and experience to the pension property investment advice already provided by Johanna Hammersley, Jennifer Rogerson and me.  We see pension property investment work as a key growth area for the team moving forward. Caroline’s appointment is the third senior appointment to the commercial property team since January. These key appointments are part of our strategy to further reinforce our current position as one of the premier commercial property teams on the South Coast."
