A pioneering technology firm has moved into new premises at Abingdon Business Park. Oxford nanoSystems has taken units 11 and 13 at Blacklands Way after expanding from Harwell Science Park.

Comprising 8,000 sq ft, the buildings include an industrial unit with offices as well as a laboratory and test facility. A 10-year lease has been agreed with Abingdon Business Park owners PATRIZIA.

The firm specialises in developing coatings which allow highly efficient heat transfer to take place which leads to more efficient cooling. Markets range from electronics to the automotive industry.

Kim Sardar, fund manager and director at PATRIZIA said: “This letting to Oxford nanoSystems is a fantastic example of how we are able to provide first class facilities for growing technology companies at Abingdon Business Park.

“Oxfordshire is rapidly becoming a world class centre for this kind of firm and we are delighted to be able to accommodate such an exciting and innovative business, ensuring home grown ventures remain within the county.”

Oxford nanoSystems will complete its move once a full, purpose-built fit-out of its new home has been completed.

Dr Alexander Reip, CEO of Oxford nanoSystems, explained: “Scaling quickly this year we are delighted to be able to move into a purpose fit out facility which has room for future expansion and great road connections as we begin our first major steps to commercialisation.”

Abingdon Business Park is a 50-acre mixed-use scheme comprising 410,000 sq ft of office, R&D and industrial property set in the heart of Oxfordshire’s economic and knowledge corridor, located within half a mile of both the A34 and Abingdon town centre. The secure site benefits from 24-hour security and an on-site park management team and is home to over 35 businesses employing over 2,300 people.
