Warwick boiler manufacturer supports Kickstart Scheme
Leading boiler manufacturer Baxi has announced that as part of the Government’s Kickstart scheme, the business will be supporting young people in the Warwick area with employment.
Applications are now open, and local young people between 16-24-years-old and currently receiving Universal Credit, are encouraged to apply through their Job Coach at the local Job Centre. Up to 30 successful applicants will receive a full-time, six-month Kickstart job placement at Baxi’s customer contact centre in Warwick.
During their initial six-month placement, they will receive bespoke training and coaching, including customer service training. It is hoped that at the end of the six months, they will want to continue working at Baxi, and take advantage of job opportunities across the company, including marketing, IT, sales, engineering and R&D to name a few.
For those that do not wish to continue, the work experience gained alongside the extra support Baxi has committed to offering, such as interview and CV writing skills, will stand young people in excellent stead to find a new role elsewhere.
Louise Murton, Customer Service Director, said: “Baxi is committed to supporting young people into employment and through this scheme we hope to discover and nurture new talent. This is a really exciting opportunity to join our team based in Warwick, especially as the business is enjoying a time of growth and investment right now. As a result, we want to encourage more local young people to join us and see the value that a career in the heating industry can bring, particularly given the sector as a whole need to address the skills gap and increase workforce diversity.
“It’s an exciting time to be in the heating industry as the UK moves towards a zero- carbon future and we look forward to these young people starting their career journeys with us, with a host of exciting new opportunities that the new technologies will bring. We passionately believe in the ethos of Kickstart and it reflects our values as a sustainable employer and our commitment to be carbon neutral in all our operations by 2030.”
