Property consultancy Vail Williams has made two new appointments to its Thames Valley-based property asset management (PAM) team.

Faryal Sheikh Talib has been appointed as associate in the Reading office, while senior surveyor Tom Horton has re-joined the property consultancy.

Faryal joins from Burley Browne Chartered Surveyors and has formerly worked at Bruton Knowles and CBRE UK, all in the West Midlands, in both the occupier advisory and asset services teams.

She specialises in property asset management and portfolio strategy. Faryal led the commercial management department at Burley Browne, where she was responsible for managing a portfolio with a collective rent roll of approximately £3 million on a total square footage in excess of 450,000 and implemented service charges equivalent to £175,000.

She said: “I am pleased to be joining such a well-respected firm as Vail Williams at this exciting time as they continue to expand and am looking forward to working in a multi-disciplinary team. I thrive on challenges, delivering excellence and making a difference when it comes to clients.”

“I have managed large property portfolios across England and Wales, including prime buildings within central London, and look forward to ensuring Vail Williams’ renowned PAM services remain second to none.”

Meanwhile, senior surveyor Tom Horton has re-joined Vail Williams’ Thames Valley region after a short period with Knight Frank in London.

Part of the property asset management team, his key skills include service charge consultancy and lease advisory services.

Tom is currently responsible for managing commercial portfolios across the South East. He is well versed in lease advisory, both in terms of rent reviews and lease renewals, and assists with service charge consultancy.

He said: “It is great to be back at Vail Williams and be part of the culture and positive working environment.”

Alex Finlayson, Lead Partner for Property Asset Management said: “We are thrilled to welcome Faryal and Tom into our Asset Management team which will embolden our capability in providing Data, Asset, Facilities and Treasury management services for clients.

“Faryal’s skills and experience have seen her develop close links with big name clients as well as local authorities, investors and private individuals.

“She is a professional operator who has represented both occupiers and landlords in terms of managing large property portfolios and over the years has worked closely with clients to maximise the value and use of their assets.

“We see Faryal as a perfect fit for our expanding team as continuing demand for PAM services necessitates organic departmental growth.

“Tom is a key member of our team and it is great to welcome him back. He is a first class surveyor and his brilliant regional knowledge stands him in good stead with our many and varied clients.”
