University of Gloucestershire launches new apprenticeship programmes to meet modern business needs

​​​Higher and degree apprenticeships are a cost-effective way for businesses to upskill their workforce. They are a powerful alternative to traditional university study. Whilst apprentices benefit from increased skills and enhanced employability, employers gain from greater productivity and improved competitiveness. ​

Digital Technology Solutions Professionals (DTSP) support internal and external customers across a range of areas, including software development, business and systems analysis, cyber security, data analysis and network infrastructure. They bring to their organisation skills that are integral to 21st century business operations.

The University of Gloucestershire is launching a new DTSP degree apprenticeship programme, enabling learners to develop core skills before they specialise in one of three pathways: Software Engineer, Network Engineer or Data Analyst. The University is also launching a new degree apprenticeship in Data Science. Apprentices will learn how to source, access and manipulate data, and use the insights they have gathered to inform and achieve organisational goals.

“Alongside traditional degrees, the University of Gloucestershire offers a range of apprenticeships programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. We deliver apprenticeships for organisations ranging from micro-businesses up to leading employers including Superdry, Serco and the NHS. Our apprenticeship schemes can be tailored to meet individual business needs. We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of apprentices to our Cheltenham and Gloucester campuses in April.”
