Three businesses from the Thames Valley have been listed as finalists in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 programme.

These entrepreneurs will be joined by 21 other companies across London and the South at a regional awards event to be held in June.

  • David Brownlow, founder of Huntswood CTC, based in Reading – the UK’s leading specialist resourcing and consultancy firm focused on governance, risk and compliance in the areas of regulatory conduct and financial crime.
  • Peter Digby, chairman of Xtrac, based in Thatcham – the company is the world’s leading supplier of motorsport transmissions for customers competing in F1, World Rally, IndyCar, Sports/Touring cars and a rapidly expanding hybrid/electric automotive market.
  • Sally Preston, managing director of Kiddylicious, based in Amersham – the fastest growing brand in the children’s food market.

2018 marks the 20th anniversary of EY Entrepreneur Of The Year in the UK, which has recognised thousands of entrepreneurs over the past two decades.

Richard Baker, managing partner at EY in the Thames Valley, said: “This programme supports the enviable entrepreneurial community we have in the Thames Valley, recognising and connecting another three local businesses in this year’s programme. These businesses not only create jobs and generate wealth, they also contribute to the continued growth of the Thames Valley economy as the fastest growing region in the UK.”

Who will be the 2018 London and South winner?

The London and South finalists will be interviewed by a panel of independent judges, who will select and announce the winners in June at an awards ceremony in London. Similar events will also be held in Scotland, the North of England, and the Midlands. Regional winners will then progress to the UK final held in November, where the ‘EY Entrepreneur Of The Year UK’ will be named. The winner will then go on to represent the UK at the ‘EY World Entrepreneur of The Year’ in summer 2019, a forum which gathers the world’s most inspiring entrepreneurs from more than 60 countries.

The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2018 London and South judging panel will be chaired by Saleem Asaria, CEO of Cambian Group.
