National audit, tax, advisory and risk firm, Crowe UK, has made a senior appointment in Reading as it grows its corporate finance offering.
Mark Allen joins Crowe’s corporate finance team, where he will be leading advisory work to corporate entities and institutional investors.
Bringing within him more than 20 years of experience, prior to joining Crowe Allen worked for the Big Four firm of Deloitte where he led its corporate finance team in Reading, before moving to London as a senior member of the technology, media and telecoms team.
Based in Crowe’s Thames Valley office, Allen will also work alongside corporate finance partner Bob Alsop in the firm’s transaction service (due diligence) team. His appointment complements Crowe’s offering in the Thames Valley region, which in recent years has made a number of senior hires and promotions. These include Jane Mackay (head of tax), Bob Alsop (corporate finance partner), Mark Stemp (private client and tax partner) and Christine Dobson (corporate audit partner).
Jeremy Cooper, managing partner of Crowe’s Thames Valley office, said: “Mark’s appointment further strengthens our offering to clients with ‘best in class’ lead advisory and due diligence, in order to further support them in their transactions, whether buying, selling, or raising funds. Ours is a truly holistic corporate finance proposition that Mark’s experience will complement and we are very excited to welcome him to the firm.”
Mark Allen, corporate finance partner, said: “I have been impressed with the investment Crowe has made in raising its profile in recent years, as well as developing its international network to become the eighth largest accounting network in the world. I’m excited by the opportunity to grow the brand further here in Thames Valley where I have spent the majority of my career to date. I like Crowe’s entrepreneurial style, its full suite of transaction-related services and the high level of partner involvement in everything that we do. I think local businesses and their owners and investors are looking for M&A advisers with a local presence and global reach, so I’m confident we can deliver great results.”
