Thackray Williams bolsters board to support rapid expansion
Kent and London law firm Thackray Williams has added a number of new hires to its management and commercial teams.
This comes off the back of an 82 per cent boost in revenues across its employment and commercial departments over the past three years.
Joining the firm as non-executive chair is Simon Slater, who’s set to help spearhead rapid expansion at Thackray Williams.
Simon has helped shaped some of the UK’s most successful professional service businesses, including Charles Russell Speechlys, Eversheds and Cripps, and was previously CEO of fellow Kent law firm Thomson Snell & Passmore.

Also among the new hires are Megan O’Hara as an employment partner, Julian Munroe as employment associate solicitor, Charlene Cowen as head of people and wellbeing, Amit Bhangham as commercial property senior associate and Lewis Glasson as a litigation partner.
Lewis’s appointment provides the firm with its first legal specialism in the sports industry.
Sean Sanders, managing partner, said: “The legal sector continues to move rapidly, and these additions mean Thackray Williams is well positioned to significantly grow within the evolving landscape and changing client needs.
“My partners and our people are ambitious. We have a clear strategy to become one of the South East’s leading law firms.
“Our business has significantly grown in recent years due to the firm’s continued investment in our existing staff, as well as our focus on attracting high quality lawyers, which has increased our service levels and quality of advice.
“This makes new client acquisition easier, and also presents great opportunities for development of our people – and prospective future staff.”
The firm has also recently announced four internal partner promotions.
In the private client department, Mitchell Thompson and Nima Stepney have been promoted to partners, while on the property team, Marcus Beavis has been made head of new build, and David Gibson, head of leasehold.
Both Marcus and David began their careers as trainees at the firm, which now employs more than 140 staff.
