Taylor Wimpey Bristol has appointed long-standing employee, Keith Simmons, to managing director.
Keith joined Taylor Wimpey in 1985 and has worked for the company for a total of 27 years. He obtained his first managing director position in 2005 at the businesses East Anglia division.
In his new role, Keith hopes to support the next generation’s career progression ambitions – something Taylor Wimpey offers in abundance through apprenticeships, graduate schemes and its own internal management programme – which is where it all began for him.
“I originally joined Taylor Wimpey as a management trainee more than 30 years ago,” Keith said. “When I returned from a career break in 2003 – to take part in a World yacht race – I was motivated to get back into construction and luckily obtained a managing director role with the homebuilder shortly after.
“I’ve had the great opportunity to work across 11 of 23 of Taylor Wimpey’s business units, and its especially nice to return to its Bristol division, where I worked from 2013 to 2015."
