Family-run care provider, Coate Water Care, has acquired a new care home in Devizes, Wiltshire.

The home, to be called Avebury House, has been bought and refurbished during the current Covid-19 crisis and will shortly open to provide a range of nursing and dementia care for up to 47 residents.

Geraldine Smith, director of Coate Water Care, said: “We are delighted to have secured this new property to re-open a much-needed care home in Devizes. It was not without its challenges during this difficult period, but our team at Coate Water Care has been brilliant in refurbishing the home in a matter of weeks.

The company was advised by law firm Royds Withy King.

In March, Coate Water Care opened Mockley Manor, in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. The company said it has invested £4 million in the luxury development. The company owns further care homes in Swindon, Gloucester, Andover and Kidderminster.

Paul Daniels, Partner and Head of Real Estate at Royds Withy King, said: “We are really pleased to have supported Geraldine and the Coate Water Care team through this transaction to enable them to acquire this exciting opportunity. The home is in a lovely setting next to the Kennet & Avon canal and, with the level of care provided by Coate Water Care, I am confident it will be very attractive to its new residents and their families.”

The specialist business agents, Christie & Co, advised the seller and funding for the purchase was provided by NatWest Bank.
